Ich habe mich 1978 an der British School of Osteopathy (heute University College of Osteopathy) als Osteopath qualifiziert. Seitdem bin ich in Großbritannien in privater Praxis tätig.
Im Jahr 1978 belegte ich meinen ersten Postgraduiertenkurs in “kranialer” Osteopathie, der von Rollin Becker, der rechten Hand von William Sutherland, geleitet wurde (Sutherland war der Entwickler des kranialen Ansatzes). In den folgenden fünf Jahren besuchte ich weitere Postgraduiertenkurse in kranialer Osteopathie, die jeweils von Dr. Anne Wales, Dr. Alan Becker, Dr. Robert Fulford, Dr. Herb Miller und Dr. Rollin Becker (allesamt wichtige Schüler von Sutherland) geleitet wurden. Ich wurde sogar von Dr. Rollin Becker vollständig behandelt, was mir viel über seinen Handkontakt und seine Palpation beibrachte!
1982 wurde ich von dem verstorbenen Colin Dove eingeladen, an der britischen Fakultät für Schädelkunde teilzunehmen. Seitdem unterrichte ich regelmäßig kraniale Osteopathie auf postgradualer Ebene, zunächst in Großbritannien, später auch in folgenden Ländern: Argentinien, Frankreich, Deutschland, Polen, Russland und die Schweiz. Im kommenden Jahr werde ich auch in Spanien und Portugal und nächstes Jahr in Brasilien unterrichten.
Ich bin Mitautorin des von Eva Moekel und Noori Mitha herausgegebenen “Lehrbuchs der pädiatrischen Osteopathie”, das in deutscher und englischer Sprache bei Churchil Livingstone/Elsevier erschienen ist. Dieses Buch ist ein Muss für alle, die Kinder behandeln.
Im August letzten Jahres wurde mein eigenes Osteopathie-Lehrbuch mit dem Titel “The Inner Approach to Cranial Osteopathy” veröffentlicht. Es handelt sich um ein Lehrbuch für Praktiker, die bereits eine Ausbildung in kranialer Osteopathie absolviert haben und ihre Fähigkeiten auf ein höheres Niveau bringen wollen. Das Buch unterscheidet sich stark von normalen Lehrbüchern.Neben dem osteopathischen Text enthält es auch über 70 QR-Codes, die den Leser zu einer privaten You Tube-Seite führen, die nur über die Codes im Buch zugänglich ist.Auf diesen You-Tube-Seiten hören Sie, wie der Autor Sie durch eine praktische Übung und Behandlung führt, die Sie dann an einem Freund auf einer Behandlungsliege durchführen können. Jede Übung bezieht sich auf das Thema des Kapitels, das Sie gerade gelesen haben.Das macht das Buch zu einem Osteopathie-Kurs, nicht nur zu einem Lehrbuch!

I qualified as an osteopath in 1978 from the British School of Osteopathy (now called the University College of Osteopathy). Since that time I have been in private practice in the U.K.
In 1978 I took my first postgraduate course in ‘cranial‘ osteopathy which was led by Rollin Becker, William Sutherland’s right hand man (Sutherland being the developer of the cranial approach). I then took further postgraduate courses in the cranial appoach for the next 5 years, each being individually led by Drs Anne Wales, Alan Becker, Robert Fulford and Herb Miller and Rollin Becker (again all key students of Sutherland). I was even given a full treatment by Dr Rollin Becker, which taight me a great deal about his hand contact and palpation!
In 1982 I was invited to joint the U.K. poatgraduate cranial teaching faculty by the late Colin Dove. Since then, I have been regularly teaching cranial osteopathy at postgraduate level, initially in the U.K. but subsequently also in the following countries: Argentina, France, Germany, Poland, Russia and Switerland, This coming year I will also be teaching in Spain and Portugal and next year in Brazil.
I am a co-author of ‘Textbook of Paediatric Osteopathy‘ edited by Eva Moekel and Noori Mitha, published in both German and English, by Churchil Livingstone/ Elsevier. This is a must have book for those who treat children.
Last August my own osteopathic textbook was pubished, called ‘The Inner Approach to Cranial Osteopathy‘. This is a text book for practitioners who have already attended a training course in cranial osteopathy and who wish to take their skills to a much higher level. The book is very different from normal text books. In addition to the osteopathic text, it also contains over 70 QR codes, which will take the reader to a private You Tube site, only accessed by the codes in the book. At these You Tube sites, you hear the author taking you through a practical exercise and treatment, which you can then do on a friend lying on a treatment table. Each exercise is based on the topic of the chapter you have just been reading. This makes the book an osteopathic course, not just a text book!
